 About this site. Why I made it. Ok, why would I spend my spare evening time to build this site? The main reason is because there has been nothing organised even close (by size, quality and representativeness) to the festival "Blues in Russia", since 1992, when it was organised and carried out. (Please, use Forum to argue!) It's important to state that this festival not only was interesting by itself, but also it generated interest to blues and stimulated blues activity in our country. Blues in Russia well deserved to have a great event, such as mentioned festival, maybe even on regular basis, and I would like to stimulate activity in this direction. However, to organise such an event in future, say in one year time, one would need to understand what the potential audience looks like, how big is it. It's important to find sponsors, to build (or re-build) professional management team of dedicated people and much much more. So, we need to start working on that today, and if somebody is interested in that, please contact me. Any advice will be welcome too. So, hopefully, something that hasn't happened for more then 8 years will be a reality soon. |

The second reason. Back in 1992, my friends and I, our team, we were proud that we carried out festival "Blues in Russia" in every media possible. We had three live concerts, we filmed it and broadcast three films on 1st National channel, we made number broadcast, featuring music recorded in the festival with many radio-stations with all-Russia coverage as well, we have very good press in all major national newspapers and some magazines, and eventually we released double album on vinyl and CD. But since that time we've witnessed another media emerged - the Internet and I'd like to cover this very attractive media too. The third reason is the idea (before going for actual real festival), to organise virtual blues festival in the Internet. I reckon it'll be first blues festival in the Internet at all. It won't be that expensive like the future real one and would have broader coverage in term of participants and audience. The are some thoughts how to do that, but I think the main input will be from other people. I relay on your creativity and wait for your ideas.
